DirectAdmin on FibaCloudKeep hosting responsibilities clear as your portfolio grows.

Build a hosting workflow around DirectAdmin’s administration levels. Separate server, reseller and website responsibilities, then size and maintain the cloud instance for the domains, databases and other services your portfolio actually needs.

01 / DirectAdmin

Make account structure an operating decision.

DirectAdmin provides a control panel for administering hosting services through administrator, reseller and user roles. That structure can help hosting teams delegate day-to-day work while keeping server-wide decisions with the appropriate owner. The features available depend on the chosen license, image and service configuration.

Plan the panel together with its underlying services. Confirm a supported operating system, review any separate CloudLinux entitlement and decide how websites, DNS and mail will be provided. An organised account structure is most useful when updates, monitoring and restores follow the same clear division of responsibilities.

01

Small hosting businesses

Create a repeatable account workflow for onboarding, access and maintenance. Establish who owns service configuration and who can manage individual sites before adding customers to a shared environment.

02

Agency account portfolios

Separate project access for clients and collaborators while retaining central administration. Review account resource use and backup scope as site content, databases and attachments grow over time.

03

Reseller administration

Use a reseller model where it fits your service arrangement. Check the license, permitted account scope and responsibility for support, billing and application maintenance before delegating operations.

02 / DEPLOYMENT DECISIONS

Choose the scope before the instance.

Confirm the current image, operating system, software versions and license requirements in the cloud configuration.

DirectAdmin deployment decisions
DecisionWhat to reviewWhy it matters
License and permissionsReview the DirectAdmin license and the administrator, reseller and user capabilities required. The intended account model should fit the software entitlement and operational responsibilities.
Operating-system supportCheck the current image OS and compatible panel installation path; review CloudLinux separately if used.Version and platform compatibility affect future upgrades as well as the initial installation.
Enabled servicesDecide which web, database, mail and DNS services the server should operate. Each additional service creates configuration, monitoring and recovery work.
Account backup designPlan backup destinations, retention and account restore tests before migrating live sites.Recovery should include the dependencies that make an account usable.

FROM PLAN TO OPERATION

Build a process you can repeat.

Validate the application and prepare its operating process before depending on it for daily work.

  1. 01

    Review the cloud image

Confirm the available DirectAdmin image, operating system, licensing and the resource needs of your initial portfolio.

  2. 02

    Establish service boundaries

Configure hostname, protected administrator access and the hosting services the server will provide.

  3. 03

    Test the account workflow

Create a representative account, assign the intended permissions and verify website, database and any enabled mail behavior.

  4. 04

    Document ongoing operations

Define update ownership, capacity reviews and backup checks, then perform a restore before treating the setup as production-ready.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Before you move forward.

Clarify the application and operating requirements before choosing the deployment.

Discuss your requirements
How are administrator, reseller and user access different?

They represent different administration scopes within DirectAdmin. Configure each role around the tasks the person needs to perform and review the capabilities supported by your selected license and deployment.

Is CloudLinux required for every DirectAdmin deployment?

Review the supported operating systems and the available Marketplace image. If CloudLinux is selected, check its compatibility and licensing independently from the DirectAdmin panel subscription.

Can I transfer existing hosting accounts?

Use a supported migration or backup-and-restore path for the source environment. Validate applications, databases, domains and mail where applicable before switching production traffic.

Who maintains the hosted applications?

Define that responsibility as part of your hosting arrangement. Installing a panel does not itself establish a managed application service or take ownership of customer code and extension updates.

OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATION

Go deeper with the application’s own guidance.

Use the documentation for the product and version selected at deployment.
