SOLUTIONS / MANAGED HOSTING

Well-run hosting starts with clear responsibilities.

Keeping an application current, observing it and restoring it when needed matter alongside hosting it. Plan a setup built on FibaCloud cloud products by separating infrastructure, operating system and application responsibilities. Establish the management scope you need before choosing a service.

01 / Overview

Make the meaning of “managed” specific.

Infrastructure, operating systems, databases, applications and extensions are separate maintenance layers. Management of one layer does not imply that every other layer is included. Define which tasks are performed, under what conditions and by whom.

Assess application requirements alongside operating expectations. Turn updates, monitoring, backups and incident communication into specific tasks. This page guides scope planning; particular management services, response times and application maintenance are determined by the relevant service terms.

01

Separate the layers

Define ownership of infrastructure, systems and applications independently. Application development and server operations require different responsibilities and skills.

02

Plan recovery

Specify backup scope, retention and recovery ownership as well as frequency. A successful backup log does not by itself prove that the application can be restored.

03

Clarify communication

Agree which channel and information a technical request needs. Distinguishing application behaviour from infrastructure issues helps investigation.

Change processDefine testing, approval and rollback.Updates become a controlled activity.

Support termsReview channels, scope and any contracted response commitments. The word support is not an operating plan.

04 / Use cases

Scope for different hosting needs

01 / Managed Hosting

Company websites

Plan content-system and extension maintenance. Compatibility, content and form checks make pre-update responsibilities concrete.

02 / Managed Hosting

Business applications

Document databases, background jobs and external dependencies. Assign application ownership and a route for investigating problems.

03 / Managed Hosting

Migration from an existing system

Inventory files, data, DNS and dependencies. Plan migration and rollback around how quickly production data changes.

05 / From planning to operation

From setup to ongoing maintenance

  1. Create an inventory

List applications, versions, licences, access and dependencies. Prepare technical context without putting secrets in open support messages.

  2. Define the scope

Assign infrastructure, system and application owners. Check service terms before assuming any task happens automatically.

  3. Validate migration

Test software, data and connections in a separate environment. Prepare a practical order for DNS changes and recovery.

  4. Maintain the setup

Review updates, capacity and backup results regularly. Update operating documentation when the application changes.

Questions

A clearer path to your next decision.

Talk to our team
Does managed hosting include every task?

No. Infrastructure, systems, applications, content and development can have different scopes. Verify the included work in the relevant proposal and service terms.

Are application updates automatic on a cloud server?

Do not assume so. Identify the team or tool responsible for updates, along with testing and rollback ownership.

Can a migration have no downtime?

Data changes, DNS, applications and dependencies need a specific plan. Assess the migration sequence and acceptable impact rather than assuming uninterrupted service.

What should I include in a support request?

Provide the affected service, time window, error text and recent changes. Do not put passwords, private keys or customer personal data into open messages.
