SOLUTIONS / MSP

Keep operating standards clear as your client portfolio grows.

Managing several clients requires repeatable operations as well as suitable resources. When building on FibaCloud products, track client boundaries, technical responsibilities and costs separately. Establish a shared approach to changes, incidents and handover while preserving the requirements that make each customer different.

01 / Overview

Standard processes must leave room for client needs.

Applications, data requirements and contracts differ between customers. Standardize operating steps instead of applying one server template to everyone. Make capacity, access and backup decisions in the context of each client.

Keep responsibilities clear between the MSP, customer and infrastructure provider. This is an operating framework; it does not imply that a reseller panel, multi-tenant billing, special discounts or white-label services are included.

01

Repeatable operations

Document inventory, provisioning and change procedures. Make the points where customer-specific requirements apply explicit.

02

Client boundaries

Plan access by role and customer need. Know which permissions must be removed when a technician leaves or a customer transfers service.

03

Clear service relationships

Separate customer communication, technical investigation and infrastructure support. Avoid unnecessary copies of secrets in incident records.

Decisions for an MSP operating model

Decisions for an MSP operating model
ConsiderHow to decideWhy it matters
Customer separationChoose shared or separate resources according to usage, access and contracts. The effect of one client’s changes on others can be assessed.
Account ownershipDocument ownership, access transfer and offboarding.Technical access stays distinct from the commercial relationship.
Cost trackingSeparate resource and service items by customer.Infrastructure costs remain clear alongside management fees.
Operating standardsDefine changes, incidents and recovery procedures.Operations depend less on one person’s knowledge.

04 / Use cases

Workloads in an MSP portfolio

01 / Managed Service Providers

Client applications

Choose resources for the application and its data. Preserve licensing and maintenance differences while applying common operating standards.

02 / Managed Service Providers

Backup and recovery management

Define scope, access and recovery objectives per customer. Do not measure success only by the number of completed backups.

03 / Managed Service Providers

Infrastructure transitions

Map dependencies, migration order and rollback conditions. Record acceptance criteria separately for each customer.

05 / From planning to operation

From onboarding to service handover

  1. Build the inventory

Record applications, data, licences and access. Confirm the scope of the supplied information with the customer.

  2. Match the plan

Choose resources and maintenance scope for the customer. Do not confuse infrastructure-provider terms with your own service commitments.

  3. Record operations

Track changes, backup checks and incidents. Maintain records that another team member can use during a handover.

  4. Prepare the exit

Agree data delivery, account ownership and access removal before service starts. Avoid gaps in data and responsibility during offboarding.

Questions

A clearer path to your next decision.

Talk to our team
Is this a ready-made reseller panel?

No. It describes an approach to operating client infrastructure with cloud products. Reseller tools, billing and commercial arrangements need separate review under the applicable service or partnership terms.

Can customers share infrastructure?

It may be appropriate if isolation, workload and contracts allow it. Design network, account and application access separately and measure the effect of resource sharing.

Can I pass the infrastructure SLA directly to clients?

Your service scope may differ. Review application and operational dependencies; do not treat contracts as equivalent without understanding their technical coverage.

What is needed for customer handover?

Document asset and account ownership, data delivery, backups, licences and access removal. Provide an up-to-date inventory that the next operator can understand.
